Went out this morning to buy a multimeter.
On tick over, the battery was being charged at 12.7V. Slightly more than 12.6V. When revving the engine at 2000RPM, the battery was being charged at 14.5V.
The normal range is between 13.5 and 15.5.
What this means is the battery is either faulty, or just needed a good charge. It was fully charged overnight and I will leave it connected to see what happens. If I need a new one, least I know the battery will get correctly charged by the alternator.
